The Renuvion technology, also known as J-Plasma in Tunisia, is a very safe and effective treatment when performed by a qualified surgeon. The flexible handpiece is specifically designed to prevent injuries. Bleeding is typically minimal or non-existent due to the coagulation properties triggered by radiofrequency energy. The cold helium gas provides immediate cooling of the heat generated by the radiofrequency energy, protecting the surrounding tissues. Burns are extremely rare, and the Renuvion or J-Plasma technology prevents radiofrequency energy from being emitted without the helium flow. Helium is an inert gas that is safely expelled from the body without any adverse effects.
With J-Plasma, almost any area with loose skin (mild to moderate laxity) can be treated: Abdomen, Back, Thighs (inner and outer), Buttocks, Arms, Breasts, Chest (men), Neck, Face.
Pre-operative Instructions
- Do not smoke one week before your surgery.
- Do not consume alcohol one week before your surgery.
- Stop taking aspirin or anti-inflammatory medications 15 days before your surgery.
- Stop taking birth control pills 20 days before your surgery.
Course of the Procedure
Renuvion technology in Tunisia uses helium gas and radiofrequency energy to create cold helium plasma. Through a small incision, a special handpiece is used to apply the plasma energy to the skin’s surface. The ionized gas causes an immediate skin contraction while stimulating collagen production for a long-term effect. The treatment is similar to liposuction, as it uses a tumescent solution to numb the tissues and minimize bleeding.
Renuvion can be used on its own, but it is often combined with liposuction. Although Renuvion can be combined with any procedure involving liposuction (VaserLipo, Brazilian Butt Lift, etc.), its usefulness should be evaluated on a case-by-case basis, as it will only be beneficial in cases where the skin is loose or when it is at risk of not contracting after fat removal.
Duration of the Procedure
J-Plasma is performed under general anesthesia, and the procedure lasts 2 hours and 30 minutes.
Return to Work
Returning to work after a J-Plasma procedure in Tunisia is generally quick, but it should be personalized based on the individual situation and professional medical advice.
Result
J-Plasma:
- Tightens the skin
- Minimally invasive
- Comfortable post-treatment recovery
- Immediate and long-lasting results
Recovery after a J-Plasma treatment will depend on the extent of the treated areas. Swelling and bruising can last up to two weeks or more. Most patients only experience mild discomfort. The skin tightening after a J-Plasma treatment can be observed almost immediately, but the results continue to improve with skin firming for up to six months after the treatment.
It is important to follow post-operative instructions to ensure proper healing and achieve the best possible result. A compression garment tailored to the treated area will be recommended, along with potentially complementary treatments such as lymphatic drainage, laser therapy, and others.
