Breast augmentation aims to increase breast volume in women presenting with breast atrophy, asymmetry, or an absence of breast development. This breast condition may be congenital—present from the onset of breast development during adolescence—or may result from hormonal changes or significant weight loss.

  • Do not smoke for at least one week before your surgery.

  • Avoid consuming alcohol during the week leading up to your procedure.

  • Discontinue the use of aspirin or anti-inflammatory medications at least 15 days prior to your operation.

  • Stop taking oral contraceptives 20 days before your surgery.

The breast implant is inserted through a small incision made in the natural fold under the breast (the inframammary fold), the armpit, or around the areola, and is then closed with very fine sutures.
The high-end breast implant brands used by Dr. Balti are regulated and comply with the strictest safety and quality standards.
There are two methods of implant placement, each yielding different results:
• Subglandular placement: the implant is positioned in front of the pectoral muscle
• Submuscular placement: the implant is positioned under, or partially under, the pectoral muscle
The choice of implant placement depends on the patient’s anatomy, the desired outcome, and the doctor’s recommendations.

Breast augmentation is performed under general anesthesia and takes between 1.5 to 2 hours. An overnight hospital stay is required.

A 7-day work leave should be planned, and driving should be avoided for two weeks. During this period, it is strongly advised not to lift heavy objects or engage in any physical exercise.

Some discomfort may occur after breast augmentation; however, it is generally mild to moderate and can be easily relieved with pain medication.
