Gynecomastia refers to the abnormal and excessive development of breast tissue in men. The severity of the condition can range from excess glandular and/or subcutaneous fatty tissue to cases involving a certain amount of excess skin. Many men feel self-conscious about this chest fullness, especially when wearing tight clothing or appearing shirtless.

Surgery can be performed in cases of persistent gynecomastia to remove excess breast tissue, as well as surplus skin and fat.

  • Do not smoke one week before your surgery.
  • Do not consume alcohol one week before your surgery.
  • Stop taking aspirin or anti-inflammatory medications 15 days before your surgery.
  • Stop taking birth control pills 20 days before your surgery.

This breast reduction is performed through a small incision along the edge of the areola. Liposuction is used to remove excess fat, while excision of part of the glandular tissue reduces the overall size of the breast.

Gynecomastia surgery in Tunisia is performed under general anesthesia and typically lasts about one hour.

A short work leave of a few days will be necessary.

Male breasts should be flat and well-defined by the pectoral muscles, with no excess skin, which greatly enhances their appearance. A compression garment should be worn during the recovery period (it remains discreet under a simple T-shirt).
