The term “Mommy Makeover” can be a source of confusion. It is not necessary to have been pregnant to benefit from a Mommy Makeover. A woman’s body changes for many reasons: weight loss or gain, aging, illness, and pregnancy.   • Do not smoke 6 weeks before your surgery.
  • Do not consume alcohol one week before your surgery.
  • Discontinue any aspirin or anti-inflammatory medications 15 days prior to your surgery.
  • Discontinue birth control pills 20 days before your procedure.
  • Breastfeeding should have stopped at least 3 to 6 months before breast surgery.
  • Generally, a minimum of 6 weeks is required to recover from a vaginal delivery.
  • Generally, a minimum of 8 weeks is required to recover from a cesarean delivery.
  • If the delivery was difficult or if the mother experienced complications during labor or postpartum, it is advisable to wait longer before scheduling the Mommy Makeover.
